About Us
Cornerstone was formed from the Chapel Ridge Free Methodist Church in Kanata on January 16, 1995. The church's original name was Grace Chapel Free Methodist Church, however the name changed following a congregational vote in the Summer of 1998. The new name was based on the idea that "Jesus is the cornerstone of our lives," quoted from Pastor Glen Snider, Almonte Gazette - January 21, 2000.
The church originally held services at various locations in the Almonte area. Construction began for our own building in May 1999 and it was officially opened in October, 1999 and in the Summer of 2002 the educational wing was added.
Cornerstone Community Church is a Free Methodist Congregation. To find out more about what we believe and more about our history, visit the official website of the Free Methodist Church in Canada by clicking on this link.
